UnderDog: the last category

March 24, 2010

This happens often with many of us. The person before us shows off his personal credentials as if he’s the only one out there who’s got that unknown talent. This is ridiculous and inappropriate. Many of us have faced such type of people in their life I guess. So what’s the best way to come out of this kind of situation? May be there are many answers for this question out there, but I’m not sure which one to choose. The only way out of this situation in my opinion is to act like an underdog I think.

So what happens actually when you act like an underdog? There comes the feeling of being inferior to those people in front of you. This is the worst feeling one can ever have, I think so, and you can’t deny it. The truth is, that person knows even nothing related to what he is speaking right now, he just want the attention of everyone. You know … the kind of people who always just want to be the centre of attraction of the show. I’m talking right about them.

Sometimes we just need to act like we are totally unknown about their areas of expertise, which is not the truth. But we do have to make a way out of this awful time of our life, which no one ever would like to remember. We just need to make them believe that they are the only person in this whole universe who’s got this mind-blowing talent of faking things efficiently. That’s the only way out.

I just stumbled on your blog. I don’t know if I completely understood it, though. But did you mean to say that if someone was treating you badly, you just have to let them get away with it? I’m confused.

    • I’m also confused. Thanks for your time & response.

  2. i like to play underdog sometimes. there’s no point arguing with an arrogant person. you’ll never win anyway. you just have to let him do all the talking. let him believe he is the only one good in this world. after all, you know he’s not. and it’s just a waste of time talking to such people.

great thoughts, rajat. thanks for sharing..

    • thanks..
